The mission of the Terra Linda High School Wellness Center is to support student health, well-being, and education. Its design enhances how physical, mental, emotional, and social services are delivered, bringing them together in one coordinated, comprehensive space within the school. With counseling offered in one space, the Wellness Center is designed to deliver a safe and welcoming environment for students to get the support they need. The design integrates principles of ecotherapy: the idea that wellness and healing can be improved through interaction with nature. Critical to this strategy is utilizing texture, warm tones, colors, lighting strategies, and furnishings that draw inspiration from nature to convey sensitivity and calmness during the wellness process.
