Located directly across the street from Disneyland and adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center, the former Anabella Hotel occupied one of the most enviable sites in the city. While the property had long served both vacationers and business travelers, its limited accommodations could not keep pace with Anaheim’s rapidly growing tourist market. Recognizing both the potential of the site and the constraints of the existing structure, the Wincome Group chose to replace the hotel with a new four-diamond-rated luxury resort that would set a new standard for hospitality in the region.
HED in collaboration with Michael Hong Architects to deliver a hotel that could appeal to two very different audiences: families vacationing at Disneyland and professionals attending conferences at the Convention Center. The result is the Westin Anaheim Resort, a property that seamlessly balances contemporary elegance with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
The design strikes a careful balance between sophistication and accessibility. Guest rooms and suites are designed with modern finishes and calming tones, providing a serene retreat for business travelers, while the resort’s restaurants, lounges, and outdoor amenities invite families to gather and unwind after a day at Disneyland. Meeting spaces and event venues extend the hotel’s appeal to convention attendees, positioning the property as a convenient and luxurious extension of the nearby Convention Center.
