Three HED Leaders Named to San Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Leaders of Influence

HED is proud to announce that Steve Crook, Nicki Sparks, and Nate Sudnick have been named to the San Diego Business Journal’s 2026 Leaders of Influence in Engineering & Architecture list. The annual recognition honors professionals whose leadership, technical expertise, and contributions are helping shape the built environment throughout the region.
Steve, Nicki, and Nate represent the strength of HED’s integrated design practice. Through structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering leadership, they help clients navigate complex challenges while advancing thoughtful, high-performing solutions that support long-term project success.
This year’s honorees reflect the breadth of HED’s integrated design practice. Crook, Structural Engineering Leader, has guided more than 100 projects nationwide, bringing thoughtful structural solutions that balance creativity, constructability, and long-term performance. Sparks, Electrical Engineering Leader, is recognized for advancing technical excellence and team development across complex multidisciplinary projects. Sudnick, Mechanical Engineer and Department Leader, specializes in high-performing HVAC systems for research, healthcare, academic, and residential environments.
