Terminal Annex Project Recognized with a 2026 Preservation Dallas Achievement Award
May 8, 2026
HED’s work on the Terminal Annex has been recognized with a 2026 Preservation Dallas Achievement Award, presented by Preservation Dallas at its annual awards program on May 7 at the Longhorn Ballroom. The awards honor projects and individuals contributing to the preservation and continued relevance of historic places across North Texas.
Originally constructed in the 1930s, the Terminal Annex remains one of Dallas’ defining civic landmarks. Its Art Deco detailing and prominent location near Dealey Plaza anchor it firmly within the city’s architectural and cultural history, even as its continued use calls for careful, forward-looking stewardship.
The recognition reflects a close partnership between HED and the client team, grounded in a shared commitment to preserving the building’s character while supporting its long-term viability. Preservation work requires discernment as much as technical precision, balancing what must remain with what can adapt so that historic places continue to serve contemporary needs.
HED also served as a sponsor of this year’s awards program, supporting Preservation Dallas in its broader mission to advocate for the city’s historic places and the stories they carry.
Steve Jackson, Project Manager at HED, attended the event on behalf of the firm. Together, the recognition and HED’s support of the program reflect an ongoing commitment to thoughtful preservation and to the partnerships that make it possible.
