National Public Housing Museum and Residences Receives Special Achievement of the Year Honor at 2026 Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards

The National Public Housing Museum and Residences has been recognized with the 2026 Special Achievement of the Year award at the Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards, presented in support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The honor recognizes projects and organizations that make a meaningful contribution to the real estate industry and the communities it serves.

Developed through a partnership between Related Midwest, the Chicago Housing Authority, LBBA, HED, and Prim Lawrence Group, the project brings together affordable housing, cultural preservation, and civic space within Chicago’s Roosevelt Square neighborhood. The work reflects a broader effort to preserve the history of public housing while creating new opportunities for residents and visitors alike.

For HED, the recognition speaks to the value of integrated collaboration across architecture, engineering, planning, and community partnership. Projects of this scale and significance ask more than technical coordination. They require trust, patience, and a shared belief that the built environment can carry history forward while supporting daily life in the present.

We are grateful to our clients and partners for the opportunity to contribute to this work and for the confidence they placed in our team throughout the process. Congratulations to everyone involved in shaping a project that continues to resonate far beyond its footprint.
