HED Ranked Among EC&M’s 2026 Top 40 Electrical Design Firms List
June 17, 2026
HED has been named No. 34 on EC&M’s 2026 Top 40 Electrical Design Firms list, an annual ranking that recognizes leading firms shaping the future of electrical design across the United States.
This year’s report highlights a period of sustained growth across the industry, driven largely by demand for data centers, electrification, infrastructure resilience, and emerging energy technologies. According to EC&M, data centers accounted for more than half of participating firms’ top markets in 2025, contributing to increased project complexity and double-digit revenue growth across the sector.
As part of the report, EC&M featured HED’s work on NTT’s CH2 Data Center in Itasca, Illinois. The 205,000-square-foot facility incorporated prefabricated modular electrical enclosures, resilient power strategies designed to support uptime, and flexible distribution systems tailored to operational needs. The project also leveraged a shared digital model that enabled real-time collaboration across teams, helping reduce delays and rework while maintaining technical rigor.
The recognition reflects the breadth of HED’s integrated engineering and design practice and the firm’s continued work on complex, mission-critical environments. Across sectors, our teams bring together electrical engineering, architecture, and multidisciplinary expertise to help clients navigate growing demands for performance, reliability, and long-term adaptability.
